For over 10 years, Dr. Romania has volunteered his time at the Veterans Hospital in West Haven, CT. Dr. Romania has also volunteered many years of service to the American Diabetes Association and has served on the Board of Directors of the State Affiliate and as Chairman of the ADA County Chapter.
Over the past 25 years, Dr. Romania has received wide recognition for his medical research. He has published numerous research articles in national journals and he has received letters in request for his research papers, not only from physicians throughout the United States, but also from physicians in Australia, Belgium, France, Germany, Great Britain, Israel, Japan, Sweden, and Switzerland.
In addition to being board certi:ied by the American Board of Ophthalmology, Dr. Romania is also a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology.
In addition, Dr. Romania has recently received recognition for performing the first artificial iris implant in the State of CT.
Dr. Romania has volunteered his time at the Veterans Hospital in West Haven, CT were he supervised and performed surgery on our veterans.
Dr. Romania has lectured at numerous medical and community functions throughout the country. In addition, on two separate occasions, Dr. Romania has spoken to physicians gathered throughout the United States at the Annual Meeting of the American Academy of Ophthalmology.
